Summary: | The paper presents the results of investigation dealing with the dependence of structural characteristics of mechanically activated spinel on technological regimes of processing and technical characteristics of the planetary mills. It was found that Activator-2S planetary mill with centrifugal acceleration of 80 g provided more intense changes in the spinel structure compared to Pulverisette 5 (20 g), thus twice reducing the processing time. Mechanically activated magnesium spinel was applied as a structurally active compatibilizer of the polymer-elastomer mixture. It was estimated that modification of polymer-elastomer mixture with mechanically activated magnesium spinel results in producing the elastomer material of sealing application, which performs improved physical-mechanical properties. |
