Summary: | Analytical and numerical solution algorithms for plastic deformation of circular membranes and membrane shells considering large displacements are developed. The perfect plastic body model, von Mises yield criterion and exact solutions to the median surface curvature are used. The analytical solution with and without regard to thickness variation of a membrane or a shell under deformation is obtained. A simple numerical algorithm based on the fixed-point iteration is used for calculating material hardening. The results of membrane strain are obtained and analyzed, as well as the results of considering thickness variation and material hardening. |
