Summary: | Energy dispersive x-ray fluorescence spectrometry was applied to quantitative determination of K, Al, Cr, Fe and Ni in chloroaluminate melts. To implement the external standard calibration method, an unconventional way of samples preparation was suggested. A mixture of metal chlorides was melted in a quartz cell at 350–450 °C under a slightly excessive pressure of purified argon (99.999 %). The composition of the calibration samples (CSs) prepared was controlled by means of the inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry (ICP–AES). The optimal conditions for analytical lines excitation were determined, the analytes calibration curves were obtained. There was some influence of matrix effects in synthesized samples on the analytical signal of some elements. The CSs are to be stored in inert gas atmosphere. The precision, accuracy, and reproducibility factors of the quantitative chemical analysis were computed. |
