Description
Summary:The paper deals with the development of fracture models for polydisperse inhomogeneous media with random arrangement of inclusions. An extended finite element method (X-FEM) is used, according to which crack growth is described by special enriched functions in combination with additional degrees of freedom. Modeling of crack development is performed in the Abaqus software. The influence of stress concentrators in the form of peculiarities of a heterogeneous structure on the process of crack propagation is investigated, particular cases of representative volume elements are considered.
