Growth and characterization of divalent transition metal ions doped zinc hydrogen phosphate single crystals

Zinc hydrogen phosphate (ZnHP) single crystal co-doped with divalent transition metal ions Cobalt (Co2+) and Cadmium (Cd2+) is grown by gel technique in silica hydro gel media. The presence of Co2+ and Cd2+ dopants in the ZnHP crystal was confirmed by Energy Dispersive X-ray Analysis (EDAX).FTIR spe...

Description
Summary:Zinc hydrogen phosphate (ZnHP) single crystal co-doped with divalent transition metal ions Cobalt (Co2+) and Cadmium (Cd2+) is grown by gel technique in silica hydro gel media. The presence of Co2+ and Cd2+ dopants in the ZnHP crystal was confirmed by Energy Dispersive X-ray Analysis (EDAX).FTIR spectra of the grown crystal depict the stretching and bending vibration of PO4 units, water of crystallization and metal-oxygen bonds. Powder XRD analysis reveals that the grown crystal belongs to monoclinic system with spacegroup P 21. The thermal stability of the grown crystal is rectified from TG-DSC studies.
