Summary: | The paper aims at the assessment of the changes in interior climate of the former treasury in UNESCO world heritage site Cathedral of Assumption of Our Lady and Saint John the Baptist in Sedlec, Czech Republic, in respect to its opening to the public. Before the opening to the visitors, the space of the cathedral treasury was functionally separated from the main body of the cathedral. The results of the long-time monitoring of the treasury climate conditions point out the evident effect of the presence of visitors on treasury microclimate, and will be used for its adjustment in order to safely preserve the exhibited historical artefacts, such as the original Sedlec monstrance that is one of the oldest Gothic monstrances in the world. |
