Description
Summary:Rapid urbanization along with the industrialization in major cities has stressed the available quality and quantity of water sources in India. The consequence of which is the generation of large amounts of sewage after independence. Nanotechnology has been the most trending topics of discussion these days. Most of the industries have commercially adopted these nanoparticles for various applications. This review paper discusses the use of Iron based metal oxide nanoparticle for the treatment of Varthur Lake water, contaminated since a long time. These nanoparticles found to be stable and non-toxic thus had no adverse effect on the water during its treatment. A stand-alone metal oxide is incapable of purifying the water. Thus, the synthesized metal oxide doped with activated carbon, to adsorb the impurities present in water, was effective. This review gives an insight on Nanotechnology wastewater treatment.
