Description
Summary:The scattering behaviors of oxygen molecules on Nafion ionomer thin film, which is a typical polymer electrolyte membrane used in polymer electrolyte fuel cells, has been investigated using molecular dynamics simulations. The scattering processes and energy accommodation of impinging molecules depend on the surface composition of the film. The local softness of the initial collision partner on the film and the number of collisions with the surface characterize the degree of energy accommodation.
