Comparative study of ultrasonic and magnetic methods for estimating plastic deformation of medium carbon steels
The group of magnetic and acoustic parameters of 30CrMnSiA steel subjected to cold rolling and subsequent flat pressing was determined. It is shown that the coercive force has a maximum at a strain of 5.9% and decreases monotonically with an increase in the strain to 20%. It is shown that the change...

Summary: | The group of magnetic and acoustic parameters of 30CrMnSiA steel subjected to cold rolling and subsequent flat pressing was determined. It is shown that the coercive force has a maximum at a strain of 5.9% and decreases monotonically with an increase in the strain to 20%. It is shown that the change in the propagation velocity of longitudinal ultrasonic waves in cold-deformed steel 30CrMnSiA, measured using different piezoelectric transducers, does not exceed 1.4%. It has been established that the use of magnetic parameters to estimate the degree of plastic deformation of medium carbon steels is more optimal than the measurement of the propagation velocity of ultrasonic waves. |
