Summary: | The problem of energy efficiency is becoming an essential issue in the design of mobile machines with more restrictive emission legislations to come. To tackle these issues, it is necessary to consider the machine as a whole taking into account the losses from the power source up to the actuators. In the paper, different architectures performing boom function in a midi excavator will be simulated in Simcenter AMESim environment and compared to highlight the energy performance. Different architectures will be considered ranging from Conventional Load Sensing, to Load Sensing with variable pressure margin, to various regeneration and recovery systems. |
