Focusing of fast plasma shock waves

Plasma shock waves have been focused by reflection from an appropriately shaped end wall of a coaxial electromagnetically driven shock tube. The duration of the hot, dense focus, its spatial location, and the plasma properties at the focus are compared with computer simulation predictions.
