description The paper is devoted to the calculation analysis of the operation of the vortex expansion separator for a generation of dry saturated steam. It will allow for an increase in the efficiency of the combined-cycle steam plant by means of an increase in the fraction of the steam generated in the separator. Different separator’s geometry options were numerically investigated, an optimal option in terms of steam mass flow and degree of dryness was chosen. Geometry optimization which allows increasing the values of these two parameters was proposed.
