The purpose of this paper is to determine the interference of waves generated by each pentamaran hull and see the best configuration that has the smallest resistance. Doing a comparison between variations Froude number and configuration of the hull to determine the wave interference. Variations in the Froude number and configuration of the hull of the outrigger pentamaran model will produce large different coefficient total resistance. The higher the speed the smaller result of the wave interference. Model ships varied based on distance staggered and clearance, distance staggered variations were 0.3L, 0.35L, and 0.4L, for distance clearance variations were 1.2B, 1.35B, and 1.5B. The results of the experiments carried out showed a configuration at distance staggered 0.4L; clearance 1.5B that had the best configuration. |
