Summary: | Veins in Penjom Gold Deposit, Pahang, Malaysia comprised of mainly quartz and associated with carbonates mineral mainly calcite. Several stages of calcite including early milky and compact calcite within mineralized veins and late stage barren and rhombohedra calcite has been recognized. Another carbonate mineral is ankerite veinlet infilling fractures at the margin or transected early veins. Ankerite shows reddish brown color due to the oxidation of iron and mostly formed during late stage to post main quartz vein. Analysis XRD also detected other carbonate mineral such as dolomite in quartz calcite vein. High grade quartz-carbonate vein associate with sulphides mineral such pyrite, arsenopyrite, galena and sphalerite. |
