Summary: | Piperaziniummalonatesesquihydrate (PMA) was successfully synthesized from aqueous solution. PMA crystallized in triclinic system with P1¯ space group. The functional groups present in the title compound were confirmed by FTIR spectral studies. UV-Vis spectral studies endowed that the PMA crystal has active in the entire visible region. LDT studies divulged the optical resistance of PMA crystal using Nd: YAG laser. Mechanical stability was established from the Vicker’s hardness studies. The grown PMA crystal was examined for third order susceptibility by Z-scan technique and revealed the saturable absorption and self defocusing behavior of PMA crystal. |
