Description
Summary:Wear in implanted cardiac lead may results in serious failure modes, including in-appropriate or missing therapy. An analytical and numerical model, intended to simulate a range of loading conditions between cardiac lead components has been developed. Analytical method performed in an aqueous environment at loads and velocities anticipated to occur in-vivo shows that a material with decreased magnitude variability within test groups has to be observed, suggesting that reliability projections should incorporate the statistical nature of the response. Ranking of implantable material response are possible using this methodology.
