Summary: | This paper presents an optical-wireless link based on indoor LAN for a fronthaul mobile network. We propose and evaluate the design of an RoF solution for existing indoor WLAN. Our proposed model design transfers 54 Mbit/s mapped onto 64-QAM modulation with a 2.4 GHz frequency carrier over single mode fibre (SMF) to a remote radio head (RRH). The Keenan Motley model has been supposed for the wireless channel for a distance of 100 m. A direct modulation laser and PIN photo detector are used for transmitting and receiving the optical signal over fibre. The Optisystem and MATLAB are utilized to build the system model in addition to perform the bit error rate (BER) and quality-factor (QF) calculations. The simulation results show that the proposed model has excellent outcomes in terms of the key performance indicators. |
