Summary: | In this research, an experiment on performance and emission characteristics of the diesel engine is performed with three blends made up of waste plastic oil, n-hexanol, and diesel. This research studygives the solution to plastic waste management and alternate fuel to diesel. The waste plastic oil is extracted from the plastic waste by the pyrolysis process to which zeolite is used as a catalyst. From the experimental results, the blend having the volume percentage of 50% of diesel, 30% of waste plastic oil and 20% of n-hexanol hasshown better performance among the other blends. About 1.265% and 14.285% increase in brake thermal efficiency, 4.04% and 8.96% lower in oxides of nitrogen emission, and 30% and 40% lower in smoke emission is achieved for this blend when compared with pure diesel and waste plastic oil at full load. |
