Preliminary studies on jet flow from curved vane swirl: Effect of radius of curvature
Experimental studies have been made to reduce noise using Swirlers of different vane configuration. Swirl jets have low screech even at higher nozzle pressure ratio (NPR). Summary: | Experimental studies have been made to reduce noise using Swirlers of different vane configuration. Swirl jets have low screech even at higher nozzle pressure ratio (NPR). The acoustic far field is studied for varied NPR for curved vane Swirlers of varying radius of curvature. The flow fields of these Swirlers are visualized by low cost Schlieren technique. The variation in shock cell is observed for this swirler at NPRs of 2, 3 and 4. |
