Summary: | An Indonesian glider called GL-1 is currently being developed using EASA CS-22 as its requirement basis. This paper discusses the CFD simulation for GL-1 spoiler and performance analysis with respect to EASA CS-22 requirements. Requirements for performance due to spoiler extension are approach performance and dive performance. The results of the CFD simulation show that the current GL-1 spoiler design fulfills the CS-22 requirements for approach and dive performance, with both results has a value substantially higher than required. Thus, further modification of spoiler design may need to be considered. |
