Summary: | Potato is an important food crop in the Russian Federation, but potato yield losses from pests and diseases in Russia are about 50%. When importing potatoes, there is a risk of spreading dangerous organisms like viruses that are absent or have restricted distribution in the territory of Russia. In this article, we discuss the potato mop-top virus (PMTV), which is proposed for regulation in the Russian Federation and the EAEU countries, and the potato yellow dwarf virus (PYDV), already included in the list of quarantine pests for the EAEU countries. Were estimated the diagnostic methods for the viruses, that are currently used. The optimal, highly sensitive and high specific methods were selected and proposed for use in diagnostic laboratories. |
