Summary: | A huge number of individuals overall live with diabetes and a few millions lose their life from it every year. A non-intrusive, easy strategy for glucose testing would profoundly improve consistence and glucose control while lessening difficulties and the overall disease administration costs. To provide accurate, low cost, and continuous glucose monitoring, in this project we have tried to test for alternative methods by spectroscopic studies. Saliva is a bio fluid that monitors the physiological state of diabetes mellitus. The characterization of saliva by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) has been studied as an alternative technique to the standard clinical analysis. Thawed saliva includes a precipitate, which may influence the infrared spectral analysis. Thus, the purpose of this study is to show the spectral differences of the precipitate, supernatant, and as a combo, as well as the best way to classify the physiological state of the diabetes mellitus by FT-IR. Our project consists of power LEDs which transfer the light rays into the saliva and to the other end a micro spectrometer will receive the penetrated light ray which gives us an analog signal. The analog signal is later processed through the Arduino microcontroller and stored in the excel sheet. Using various techniques and algorithm we process the stored data and analyze the condition. |
