Description
Summary:In the present work glass-ceramic material which can be used in the hydraulic fracturing technology has been investigated. The following composite material consist of milled glass and clay as a plasticizer. The samples were in the form of granules with the diameter of 0.4–0.8 mm. Sintering of granulated samples were conducted at 1050°C with varying of the holding time from 8 up to 14 min. Density and mechanical characteristics such as compression strength and crush resistance depending on the initial composition and firing time have been examined. The resulting material is characterized by high compressional strength, with a low apparent density, which is provided by the internal closed porosity created by adding coke and sawdust as the gasifiers to the initial composition. Granules with 20% of clay fired at 1050°C for 10–12 min have maximum compressive strength and crush resistance. Subsequent adding of plasticizer up to 30% do not leads to the further increasing of mechanical characteristics
