Description
Summary:Preliminary study on potential source of external human induced events at Pantai Gosong Site has been carried out. The external human induced event (HIE) is any facilities, processes, and/or human activities around the site plant that if incorrectly executed might affect the safe operation of the nuclear power plant (NPP). Several studies have been conducted in Panta Gosong site West Kalimantan, but studies on the aspect of HIE have never been reported. The objective of the study is to identify the potential sources of HIE in the Pantai Gosong region in which a NPP will be located. The method of this study begins with collecting data on potential sources, initial screening using Screening Distance Value (SDV), field confirmation and potential hazards determination for those sources which inside the SDVs. The study shows that SPBU Teluk Banjar, SPBN Sungai raya and fuel tanker truck are the potential sources which are most likely to threaten the site/ future NPP. The magnitude of the hazard at these three sources needs to be carried out to ensure the impacts to the Pantai Gosong Site.
