Study the protective effect of Aloe vera gel extract against hepatotoxicity after treated with azathioprine in adult rats

The study aims to determine the efficacy of the Aloe vera gel extract against hepatotoxicity caused by Azathioprine (AZA) and detecting through the changes in serum levels of (AST, ALT, bilirubin, albumin, LDH, and cholesterol) markers between groups of rats. In adult Albino rats, animal groups were...

Description
Summary:The study aims to determine the efficacy of the Aloe vera gel extract against hepatotoxicity caused by Azathioprine (AZA) and detecting through the changes in serum levels of (AST, ALT, bilirubin, albumin, LDH, and cholesterol) markers between groups of rats. In adult Albino rats, animal groups were oral received 15mg/kg of Azathioprine and 250mg/kg,500 mg/kg of Aloe vera gel extract. Blood samples were collected from all animals after the end of the trial time of 21 days. The results of the study showed that the Aloe vera gel extract has Hepatoprotective effects against Hepatotoxicity induced by Azathioprine (AZA) were the results show there are significant changes in levels of biochemical markers.
