Description
Summary:This study aimed to perform conversion or migration of data from a relational database to a graph database. graph database is one of the nosql databases. The nosql database is very suitable for managing databases whose structure is growing and each data does not have to fill in all the fields that have been determined. NoSQL is a database that does not require a schema and does not have to have relations. This type of NoSQL database model is suitable for databases that require large data sets such as big data. NoSQL is also widely used in structured social networking or customer management applications. The research process will transfer the data format stored in tabular form to data stored in graph form. The conversion process must produce the same data and no data is lost. In the research, the conversion process from the sql database to the nosql database uses the data used in the management of cooperation. The data were cooperation archives in a university. Cooperation archives are much needed especially for accreditation purposes. Moreover, cooperation archives facilitate the self-evaluation process of a cooperation activity. The study was conducted by observing database system development life cycle that consisted of four phases that were needs analysis, logical design, physical design, and implementation. The results showed that the migration process of the cooperative archives from a relational database to a graph database was done without losing the data. The data that was originally in text form in the relational database changed to a graph form in the graph database. The modification process in the graph database was done by making relations among nodes.
