Summary: | In recent decades, the European seas have seen a decline in stocks and a sharp decline in the fishing of valuable fish species. Pollution of sea waters leads to a deterioration in the quality of fish raw materials and aquaculture products. Lake Velje is one of the largest reservoirs in the Novgorod region. It is part of the Valdai National Park and is located on the Valdai morainic ridge. The emerging environmental risks caused by, on the one hand, the pollution of the aquatic environment in the areas of commercial aquaculture cultivation, and, on the other hand, by the negative impact on the environment by the conduct of fishery activities, may turn out to be an obstacle to the further use of the water area of Lake Velje for fishery purposes. |
