Summary:Energy transition will inevitably transform the oil and gas sector implying the development of new technologies aimed at reduction of carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere. The paper considers the issue of the economic feasibility of introducing innovations into the ongoing production. Its resolution involves a methodological approach to evaluating the efficacy criteria of new technologies and defining terms for achieving such criteria.
