Summary: | The purpose of this study was to determine the validation of teaching books and E-learning content for STEM subjects. The experts validated them through the aspects of the material, learning process, and media. The type of research is Research & Development according to Thiagarajan. It is called a 4D model, including the Define, Design, Develop and Disseminate stages. The research data were the documents of development processes, and the teaching books quality data were from validators and potential users. Furthermore, a validation technique was used to collect data. Sequential quantitative-qualitative description technique was used to analyze the data. The results of the study indicate that the process of developing teaching books and e-learning content for STEM subjects obtained curriculum analysis, needs analysis, and problem analysis; the design stage obtained the design and the STEM course teaching books and e-learning content; the development stage obtained 1) validation of teaching books according to material experts obtained that the feasibility of the material to be included in the very feasible category, the STEM component in the appropriate category, and the use of language in the appropriate category; 2) validation of teaching books according to learning experts obtained that the content was in the appropriate category, the STEM component in the very appropriate category, and the use of language in the appropriate category; 3) validation of e-learning content carried out by media experts obtained a very feasible category validation. At the dissemination stage, 78.6% of students were interested in the developed teaching books and the e-learning material. 87.8% and 81.2% of students understood the STEM teaching books and e-learning content and said that STEM teaching books and e-learning content were very suitable to use in class. |
