Description
Summary:The study was conducted on 400 suspected patients and 30 healthy persons who have visited the AL-Zahra maternity and paediatrics laboratory, AL-Hakeem hospital, AL-sadder hospital, AL-Segad hospital, AL-Fruit al-Awsat hospital, AL-Munadira hospital in AL-Najaf province from August to December 2020. This study was designed to determine the effects of Entamoeba histolytica infection on biomarkers such as hepcidin (HEPC), Interleukin (IL-6). The parasite was recognized after an examination of the stool sample by using a general stool examination test. A total of 400 suspected patients were collected, 260 male and 140 female, sixty out of 400 (15 %) 40 (10%) male and 20 (5%) female infected is detection by recognizing cyst and trophozoite of E. histolytica by light microscopic test. The present study results revealed that the incidence of E. histolytica infection according to education level was the highest in the uneducated persons with the number and percentage of 36 and 60%. Flowed by school educated persons who had the number 20 and 33.3% respectively and the lowest incidence of infection was in the person who has college education which had the number 4 and 6.7% respectively, While the current study revealed that incidence of E. histolytica infection according to the standard of living was the highest in the Socio-economic status with the number and percentage 40 (66.7%). Flowed by at intermediate level was 16 (26.7%) respectively, and the lowest incidence of infection was in the person who has good Socio-economic status, which had the number 4 and 6.7% respectively. The current study revealed that concentration of (HEPC) in male and female infection with E. histolytica were significant increase (P< 0.05) (67.51467± 3.298 pg/ml), (67. 7779 ±4.907 pg/ml) respectively in compared to the control group (22.37768± 1.385 pg/ml), (26. 5965 ±1.640 pg/ml), also it revealed the significant increase (P< 0.05) (67.6068±2.722 pg /ml), (23.74503 ± 1.083 pg /ml) respectively in a concentration of (HEPC) in total patients infected with E. histolytica and total control group, The current study revealed that concentration of (IL-6) in male and female infection with Entamoeba histolytica were significant increase (P< 0.05) (143. 74162 ±3.932 ng/ml), (146.83562± 4.213 ng/ml) respectively in compared to the control group (47.6377±3.16231098 ng/ml), (48.5742± 6.005 ng/ml) respectively, also it revealed the significant increase (P< 0.05) (144.82452±2.935 ng /ml), (47.94987±2.81
