Summary:The article examines the stages of development of the fuel and energy complex of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) from 1980 to the present, as well as the forecast of development until 2030. At the same time, the analysis of the first stage of the implementation of the Energy Strategy for the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) was carried out. It was noted that the forecasts of key parameters of the fuel and energy complex development developed in 2008-2009 were 78% consistent with their actual values or exceeded these values. When studying the directions of development of the energy complex of the region, it is necessary to consider a wide range of possible conditions and ways to achieve the goals of energy policy. The factors that must be taken into account when studying the directions of development of the energy complex of the North region are highlighted.
