Summary: | In this era, technology in exploration and exploitation has developed significantly. Due to the increasing demand for oil and gas, it is necessary to explore new wells or increase the production of existing oil wells. Pore pressure is an essential parameter for designing a well in exploring new wells. The normal pore pressure value is 0,433 psi/ft, which refers to equivalent depth conceptual; the greater the depth, the higher the pore pressure. However, there is an anomaly in pore pressure: one of them is overpressure. Overpressure zone occurs when the fluid is trapped, and it cannot get out from the formation due to the seal layers caused by the loading and unloading mechanism. In this study, well X and well Y has an abnormal pressure at 180 – 260 m and 310 – TD for well X, and 150 – 220 and 300 – TD for well Y. The determination of the overpressure zone is predicted by Eaton Method. The loading mechanism causes overpressure that occurs on that field. |
