Description
Summary:The study aims to describe the mathematical abilities of students with intellectual disabilities. This descriptive-qualitative research was conducted at SDLBN (State Special Elementary School) Metro and SDLB (Special Elementary School) Catur Bina Bangsa. The samples consisted of four students. The research instruments were questionnaires and interview sheets. The researchers analyzed the data through data reduction, presentation, and conclusion. Based on the data analysis, the mathematical abilities of students with intellectual disabilities are divided into two categories. First, severe intellectual disabilities are characterized by the ability to (a) count one to ten, (b) perform additions with the help of the teacher, (c) solve mathematics problems with the help of the teacher. Second, moderate intellectual disabilities are characterized by the ability to (a) count one to ten well, (b) perform several additions with the help of the teacher, (c) can solve mathematical problems well with the help of the teacher. From the results of this study, students with intellectual disabilities can count well from one to ten. Furthermore, they can solve mathematical problems with the help of the teacher.
