Description
Summary:Urban slums have received significant attention for their vulnerability to the spread of Covid-19. This is because slum areas show physical and socio-economic unpreparedness to face the Covid-19 pandemic. This study aims to analyze the environmental vulnerability of riverfront slum areas in Karangsari Sub District, Kendal during the Covid-19 pandemic. The research method uses quantitative methods. During the Covid-19 pandemic, data collection through field observations was carried out in compliance with health protocols. In addition, questionnaires were distributed to 40 respondents who were citizens of RW 5. The analysis technique uses descriptive quantitative analysis and spatial analysis. The results showed that during the Covid-19 pandemic, the maintenance of environmental infrastructure for slum areas on the riverfront was vulnerable to reduced frequency. Interventions from the government and stakeholders related to tidal flooding from upstream to downstream and waste management cannot be implemented as a whole. So that it requires the participation of all relevant stakeholders to overcome problems in riverfront slum areas that are vulnerable to tidal flooding and waste management which can cause the rapid spread of the Covid-19 virus.
