description | The new generation like to spend more time with the e-gazette such as smart phone and game compare traditional gazette such as magazine, book, and newspaper. With this culture mobile technologies offer the opportunity to embed learning in a natural environment. This paper defines the role of Mobile learning (m-learning) in inspiring students’ engagement and exploring the opportunities to support learning through m-learning alignment in a university setting. In this research, m-learning application such as kahoot! E-exercises and e-quizzes adoption of m-learning during lecture and outside lectures activities for conversations and consultation. The researcher applied action research approach with the primary data collected through interviews and students’ feedback on the reflections in three phases of implementation of M-learning (pre-implementation phase (knowledge), implementation phase (practice) and post-implementation phase (outcome)) in the teaching and learning processes. The positive findings showed those students’ engagement skills increased via the m-learning adoption. Students had active learning opportunity where effective conversations and consultation between the lecturer and students. This paper intensifies lecturer awareness in identifying the learning tasks via m-learning that are well developed. This may further be a motivating factor to adopt measures and new strategies for the improvement of students’ skills. With a large group of students and time limitations in completing the syllabus, mobile learning approach is the suggested way to be implemented by an educator to enhance active classroom where the engagement skills are created. Statistics revealed a higher engagement rate when courses are delivered using the m-learning approach. The paper concludes with open issues for future research, especially with the need to thoroughly evaluate the learning benefits |
