Summary: | Water is essential to every living thing in the day to day life. Out of total water content in the world only 2% were fresh water. Fresh water contains heavy metals like Hg which is harmful to human body. So in order to remove the heavy metals we use different methods of purification. Zinc oxide is used as better adsorbent and sensor for heavy metals. Zinc oxide nanoparticles are synthesized by sol gel method which are used in water purification. It is characterized by UV, XRD, SEM, EDAX analysis. Within 120 minutes, the degradation efficiency of ZnO was found to be 72%. The system’s photocatalytic degradation was studied using methylene blue as a reference dye (MB). |
