description | Construction waste prominently rising every year due to rapid development and mega construction projects in many countries. One of the most critical issues that caused the waste generation is mishandling materials at construction sites. Therefore, this study aims to discover the highest cause of mishandling material which led to construction waste generation. A total of 34 causes were identified and tabulated from previous research papers. The frequency analysis is used and the study revealed that damage during transportation to site, wrong handling of materials and inappropriate storage are the main three root causes discovered in this study. The revealed causes are crucial to minimize the construction waste generation at construction sites. Hence, all construction practitioners need to tackle the issue at the construction site. It is also beneficial for the country in terms of a healthy construction environment. |
