Summary:Kemalang District has a physical condition that is susceptible to landslide. Kemalang’s physical condition can endanger the population in this area. Kemalang District has a population of 39,299 people with several vulnerable groups in it. With the condition of landslide susceptibility and the existence of social vulnerability factors, this research is important to do to minimize the negative impact of landslides. This study aims to analyze the level of susceptibility and social vulnerability to landslides in Kemalang District. The use of methods related to landslide hazard mapping and social vulnerability, namely field surveys, overlapping and weighting with GIS applications. The results showed that Kemalang District has three classes of landslide susceptibility, namely the low class area of 0.684 km2, the medium class is 50,476 km2, and the high class is 8,706 km2. The susceptibility condition of the Kemalang District is not good because it is dominated by the middle to high class. There are three classes of social vulnerability, namely low, medium and high. The condition of social vulnerability is quite good because it is dominated by low and medium class.
