Summary: | A compact multilayer patch antenna for wireless sensing network applications is presented in this work. The proposed antenna has gain of 10.34 dB at an operating frequency of 5.8 GHz. The proposed multilayer structure antenna formed of a patch antenna printed on an Arlon AD250 substrate and covered by three superstrate layers of Rogers RO3206 material. The height of each superstrate layer has been optimized based on performance of antenna in terms antenna’s gain, side lobe levels of radiation pattern, reflection coefficient, and bandwidth. The proposed multilayer antenna has a reduced size compared to literature multilayer works. Computer Simulation Technology (CST) 2014 has been used as an experimental environment. |
