Summary:The hydraulic equipment known as a centrifugal pump converts mechanical energy into pressure energy by exerting centrifugal force on the fluid particles. It is used for pumping fluid from one place to another according to the requirement they are widely used in different fields like automotive industries and domestic applications. The flow through the impeller of a centrifugal pump is totally turbulent and three-dimensional. The flow through the impeller of a centrifugal pump is simulated in this project. ANSYS-CFX can accurately estimate the complicated internal flow of a centrifugal pump impeller. The impeller is generated through VISTA CPD and BLADE GEN module of ANSYS is used. The Total Pressure distribution and Velocity Contour along the impeller is analyzed and the efficiency of the numerically solved model in ANSYS is compared with the experimental, and the critical results.
