Summary: | Optical coherence tomography (OCT) is a novel method for monitoring high-resolution transparent objects without touching them. Originally used for clinical imaging, OCT is now used to tackle materials testing and classification difficulties. Layer thickness, refractive indices, and internal structures of polymer components were all investigated in this study. Polarization-sensitive OCT, a non-destructive extension of OCT, was used to locate areas of enhanced anisotropy in injection-moulded plastic components as well as to estimate internal stresses in transparent materials. |
