Summary: | This paper presents the results of a numerical simulation of the interaction of the cylindrical steel projectiles with orthotropic barriers made of organic plactic. Problems are solved numerically, by the finite element method, in a three-dimensional formulation within the framework of the phenomenological approach to solid mechanics using the original EFES software package. The behavior of the steel projectile material is described by an elastic model. The behavior of an anisotropic material is represented by the elastic-brittle model. The effect of failure criteria on the stress-strain state of an anisotropic barrier is compared. |
