Summary: | The typical porous material zeolitic-imidazolate-framework-67 (ZIF-67) in which Co+2 ions strongly connect with the imidazole ligand. ZIF-67 can expose a large surface area, pore volume, and well stability. In this work, ZIF-67 was well prepared by a co-precipitation approach. The prepared ZIF-67 was characterized by DRS, FESEM, N2-sorption, EDS and XRD analyses. The results demonstrate that the ZIF-67 has a huge surface area of about 2413.5 m2/g, also ZIF-67 has good optical properties which have bandgap energy (3.3 eV). The photocatalytic efficiency of ZIF-67 under visible light was examined for degradation of four types of dyes MB, MO, Rh.B, and indigo carmine. The result shows that the degradation rates were 100% within 80 min for MB, 100% within 200 min for MO, 87.26% within 240 min for Rh-B, and 91.3% within 240 min for indigo carmine. These results proved that ZIF-67 has a satisfactory photocatalytic performance. |
