Description
Summary:The projects focus on the design and development of novel wet curing systems for vertical concrete structures. Due to a lack of moisture in the concrete, the curing process does not take place properly in vertical structures, so this leads to reduced compressive strength development and also increased drying shrinkage due to the reduced levels of cement hydration. The chemical reaction that occurs when cement and water come into contact is known as cement hydration. This is an exothermic reaction, which means that a lot of heat is released throughout the cement hydration process. This project uses polymer lamina as a membrane, having capsules that can hold water, this membrane is placed over the concrete surfaces by providing moisture on the surface and helps in avoiding evaporation loss. This project focus on improving the concrete curing process by providing adequate moisture for the cement hydration to take place effectively and help the concrete to achieve maximum physical and chemical properties.
