Summary: | Mechanoluminescent material is the new and emerging sensor that can be used to detect cracks in any structural element. ML glows when any form of mechanical action is applied over it. This property will help us for structural health assessment of concrete structures like buildings, bridges, etc. and hence identifying locations which have experienced severe damage. This paper deals with the synthesis of the mechanoluminescent phosphor using the wet chemical route. The material synthesized was then applied over a concrete cube, and the cube was tested using a compression testing machine. |
