Description
Summary:The purpose of this study is to examine the Material Removal Rate of HSS M35 and TiN coated tools in novel CNC drilling operations on Aluminium Alloy AA6351-T6. The drill bits used in this investigation are HSS M35 and TiN coated twist drill bits. On Aluminium Alloy AA6351-T6, the specimen on which the drilling operation is performed. This experiment consists of two groups of 20 specimens, each drilled with both instruments. Speed (rpm), depth of cut (mm) and feed rate (mm3/rev) were all controlled variables. The cut speed, controlled by the input speed, feed rate and depth of cut were 2200, 200 and 10 respectively. The observed results for each tool were recorded and analyzed using SPSS v.26 software. According to the final mean MRR for HSS M35 was 224.54420 with a standard deviation of 12.741088, while the TiN coated tool had a mean MRR of 308.64255 with a standard deviation of 35.759401. The significance value of these results was 0.010, which is less than 0.05. Material Removal Rate values of TiN coated tool were found to be higher in this investigation when compared to HSS M35 tool for the same input speed, feed rate and depth of cut.
