Summary: | Sediment transfer is an important and complex process. And comprehensive information on sedimentation in both nature, spatial, and quantities can support preserving hydrological and environmental development. Sedimentation is a future problem for rainwater harvesting structures, which reduce storage and increases maintenance cost. A geographic Information System (GIS) can provide meaningful information for counting sedimentation on various spatial scales. Field survey, observation, and data collection were combined with GIS carried out on lake Houran 3. This data were used for mapping the spatial distribution of sediments within the lake. Therefore, this method plays an important role in mapping and detecting sedimentation by providing fast, timely, and reparative. |
