Description
Summary:Photovoltaic Thermal Solar Collector (PV/T) is one of the potential technologies utilizing solar energy for electrical – hot air generation. However, a conventional design of PV/T is not efficient due to its lower solar conversion process performance. The present study provides an in-depth experimental investigation and thereby enhancing the PV/T outcomes. Two models of the PV/T design were fabricated; model 1 has the same air stream line passing under the PV cell and Solar Air Heater (SAH). Model 2 has a separate air stream path between the PV panel and SAH. A comparative analysis was done between conventional design (model 1) and proposed design (model 2) on various performance parameters in terms of thermal and electrical efficiencies and under various operating conditions. The test result appeared that the new air passing arrangement with model 2 addresses the weakness in previous PV/T models and achieved a higher enhancement in power electrical was achieved at 12:00 reached 19.64 Watt and thermal efficiency 18%. The report offers practical solutions it helps researchers process errors in earlier models.
