Description
Summary:Current life shows an increase in the urbanization and population, this increment showed an increase in the different types of resources consumption and wastes generated due to using of these resources. As a sustainable solution, many researches try to find solutions to reduce the effect of these wastes on the environment. Replacement of water and wastewater sludge with cement in the concrete mix considered to be an environmentally friendly solution. Water and wastewater sludge were collected and dried at 105 ° C for 24 hours then burnt in an electrical furnace at temperatures ranging from 700 °C for two hours. The produced ash is sieved and replaced with cement in the concrete mix at percentages of 10%, 15% and 20%. The tests of compressive strength and flexural strength show that replacement of water sludge with percentage of 15% was the best.
