description Potholes are a result of inadequate road quality and maintenance, as well as the continuous passage of heavy vehicles such as trucks. The presence of potholes can lead to significant damage to vehicles, particularly their tires, and can also increase the risk of road accidents. Therefore, it is crucial to implement effective and preventative measures to manage potholes in complex road environments, as this plays a critical role in ensuring driver safety. Efficient and effective management of potholes is not only crucial for driver safety but also for the prevention of traffic accidents and the smooth flow of traffic. In the past, pothole detection was primarily carried out through visual inspections by human experts. In recent times, automated pothole-detection methods have emerged that utilize a range of technologies, including sensors. The objective of this project is to propose a pothole detection system that can provide advance warnings to drivers and slows down the motor, thereby helping them avoid potholes on the road. The concept behind this project is to develop a vehicle with the ability to detect potholes and alert the driver through a buzzer indication. By identifying potholes in advance, the occurrence of accidents or collisions can be minimized. This paper presents a proposed pothole detection model capable of identifying potholes with a minimum depth, and then alerting the driver to proceed with caution in order to ensure safe driving. This idea can be further developed by integrating GPS and server technology, which would enable users to submit complaints regarding potholes to relevant government officials.
